I had the distinct honour of moderating the Halifax Black Film Festival (HBFF) panel titled “Why Racialized Casting Directors Are Key to Boosting Representation On Screen.” 🌟
It was an incredible experience to share insights with such an accomplished group of industry experts, including award-winning agent/agency owner Tiauna Jackson, leading casting director Zora DeHorter, renowned filmmaker/producer Hank White and esteemed actor/producer Koumbie. We had a great discussion about the importance of diversity in casting and its potential impact in the entertainment industry. Our conversation about the importance of diversity in casting was both enlightening and empowering.
I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a vital conversation. Grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to more impactful discussions in the future! Special thanks goes out to the entire staff at HBFF for all their hard work and dedication in putting on this great event every year! 🎬 ✨
